TOUR TYPES

A RANGE OF TOURS TO SUIT EVERYONE

At Egypt Uncovered we offer a range of different types of tours...

Our small group adventure tours give you the chance to travel, have fun as well and take in the culture and sights of some of the world's most exotic and exciting destinations with fellow like-minded travellers. Group sizes on most trips range from 12-20 to ensure you can hear and get to know your guide well, and make friends with your fellow travellers.

Similar in style, our shoestring tours are set at a lower budget and may use slightly lower levels and accommodation and have larger maximum group sizes. They provide a great chance to see the main highlights of a destination at a lower cost. Some are 'point to point' tours, making them work especially well for independent travellers who want to continue exploring a destination after an initial tour with us, rather than flying straight home.

In Africa we offer a selection of overland adventures which cover larger distances and sometimes multiple countries while travelling in comfortable expedition vehicles. You can choose between lower budget camping trips, and 'accommodated' tours which stay in hotels and lodges.

Families who want to take their children on an exciting and rewarding holiday can consider our specially designed family tours. Available both on set dates on which you can join other families, or as private departures just for you, these give both adult and children alike a great taste of some of the world's best destinations.

Our city break tours are what the name suggests - short stays in some of the world's most exciting cities with a balance of included touring and free time to explore independently. All can be run on any dates and customised to suit.

Finally, we also offer a wide range of private tours for people who don't want to join a group and would like our help in designing their own holiday. All our small-group, shoestring, family and city break tours can be run privately, and we also feature a further selection of sample itineraries in various countries around the world. All of these can either be booked as they are, or used as a base that our experienced travel consultants can then tweak to fit your personal requirements, interests, preferred accommodation level, and your budget.

TOUR REVIEWS

Everything was efficient and timely except it would have been better to have our international flight information sooner. Not knowing the carrier and detailed flight information severely limited our ability to select good seats and plan for luggage restrictions. Efficient service is expected but more customer focused hospitality would have achieved a 5 star rating.
This was a great trip and worth every penny. Our Egyptologist tour guide was 'Big Mo' which made all the difference. He was knowledgeable, kind, and hospitable. He made sure we had a solid introduction to each tour site and then was available for more detailed information if we wanted. Book a tour with 'Big Mo' if at all possible!

Each time I called or emailed Encounters, I was given an answer immediately. The team remembered me and were quick to help me. Top-notch customer service.
Excellent tour. From the moment we landed in Cairo until we left, we were well taken care of. We experienced so much of Egypt -- from temples and pyramids and tombs to a bonfire dinner and sing-a-long on an island. Our guide (Waleed) was exceptional. His love and knowledge of Egypt was evident throughout the tour. He helped Egypt come alive for us. We were very pleased with the tour.

I probably think about parts of this trip everyday. It was well organized and planned by Encounters, and the guides and staff in Egypt are amazing human beings. Go on every extra side trip and mini adventure you can. We went in the pyramids and the camels ride behind the pyramids, went to Ramses II tomb, on a hot air balloon ride over Luxor, and to Alexandria, in addition to the amazing things to do on the trip. It was well worth the money. It was absolutely amazing everyday. Tips: Don't expect customer service to directly answer your questions. Mariska only sends generic emails. At least 4 people on our tour experienced this. The other staff and their amazing customer service makes up for this. Bring toilet paper, small 1 Egyptian pounds for the bathrooms, and expect to tip everyone. Also, its good to bring Imodium, heartburn, and allergy meds just in case i would go on this trip again...
With all we did and the amount of travel, I was shocked at how cost effective the tour company made it. You get your money's worth after you think about busses, felucca sailboat, overnight train, hotel rooms, and the amazing tour guide.

Excellent, prompt responses to any e mail enquiries, as well as efficient service over the phone when I was considering making the booking. Documents e mailed out as required.
A fabulous trip. Wonderful experience being part of a small group touring a truly amazing country. Sami, our guide, was fantastic - superb knowledge, delivered in a fun and relaxed style. A really outstanding, memorable trip.

Everything was very well organized and our guide Magz was incredible! He genuinely looked out for us the entire trip, especially in the markets and busy areas, as well as taught us about all of the history of the places we were at. Transportation was always ready and waiting for us and the accommodations were way nicer than we expected. Well done Encounters!
We really got to see a lot for the time we spent in Egypt and Egypt Uncovered made sure no time was wasted in waiting for transportation and rooms and things like that. We had a great group, a great guide, and really learned a lot. All accommodations were exceptional and we couldn't believe how we did everything for such a good price
