Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to settle into the hotel and relax after your journey.
Enjoy a full day tour of the famous pyramids and Sphinx at Gisa before visiting the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to see the famous Tutankhamun exhibit. In the evening we take an overnight sleeper train to Aswan (flight upgrades available).
We arrive in Aswan in the morning and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon we take a tour to Philae Temple and the High Dam at Lake Nasser. The rest of the day is free to explore Aswan, perhaps walking along the Corniche next to the Nile which is at its most beautiful around Aswan.
Early this morning we have the chance to drive out into the desert early morning to visit the spectacular temples at Abu Simbel. In the afternoon we board our felucca sailboat to being our Nile cruise, starting with stops at some of the islands that dot the Nile around Aswan. You'll spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing and watching rural Egyptian life pass you by on the banks of the Nile. In the evening we are entertained by our Nubian boat crew and are attended by our support boat with toilets, showers and a kitchen on board.
We finish on the felucca after a little more sailing this morning and head north to Luxor, stopping at the beautiful riverside temple at Komombo, and the huge temple at Edfu along the way. Luxor hosts a huge concentration of ancient Pharaonic sites, on both banks of the Nile, and we'll enjoy our first visit here this evening, to Luxor temple itself which sits in the middle of town and is beautifully lit up at night.
We cross the Nile today to visit the sights on the west bank including the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatchepsut and Medinat Habu Temples and the imposing Colossi of Memnon. There is also an option to take a spectacular early morning hot air balloon flight over the Nile. The afternoon is free to enjoy your 5-star hotel on the banks of the Nile, explore the markets, visit the mummification museum or take another felucca trip on the Nile at sunset.
You have a welcome late start today after several early mornings over the last few days. Your morning is free to explore Luxor further before our tour this afternoon to the huge temple complex at Karnak. In the evening we board the overnight sleeper train back to Cairo (flight upgrades available).
We arrive back in Cairo this morning and the rest of the day is free for you to explore the city some more. We can also arrange an optional day trip to the colonial coastal city of Alexandria, to the World Heritage Site of the Valley of the Whales near Wadi Rayan in the desert outside Cairo, or a city tour exploring more of Cairo today.
The tour ends today and your time is free until we transfer you to the airport for departure.
We use a range of carefully selected hotels on our group departures. If you have specific requests for hotels, please ask for a private or tailor-made tour.
