Our Cultural Adventure tours are designed to provide an exciting mix of historic sightseeing, local interactions and some more adventurous activities. These may include overnight felucca sailboat trips, desert exploration, camel and jeep safaris (Note - we also have a dedicated travel idea category for tours that concentrate especially on Desert Safaris). There may be some very basic accommodation for a few nights, mixed in with the normal hotels.
You can either join of our small-group departures, or ask us to run the tour privately for you, or use the tour as a base for a tailor-made itinerary.
This tour travels through the Nile Valley visiting Egypt's ancient sites and monuments. From the Pyramids and Sphinx in Cairo, to Abu Simbel temple, the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple, we take in all the main sites, and include a peaceful felucca ride, Dahabiya or Nile cruise down the Nile stopping at riverside temples and villages. A great introduction to Egypt in just 9 days.
One of our most popular itineraries, this tour starts with visits to the Pyramids, Sphinx and Egyptian Museum in Cairo before we head south through the Nile Valley. From Aswan, we take a peaceful felucca sailboat or luxury Dahabiya cruise along the Nile to Luxor, where we explore temples & tombs on both banks of the river. The tour ends with time for you to relax at the beaches and cafes at Dahab, to snorkel or scuba-dive among the coral reefs of the Red Sea, and if you wish, to climb Mt. Sinai.
After touring the Pyramids & Sphinx in Cairo, this tour visits the main highlights of the Nile Valley between Aswan and Luxor, featuring a peaceful felucca or Dahabiya cruise along the Nile. After a stop by the Red Sea, we enter Jordan for a jeep safari and Bedouin camp amid the stunning desert scenery of Wadi Rum, explore the ancient city of Petra, swim in the Dead Sea, and visit several other sites including Shobak crusader castle and the Roman mosaics at Madaba. The tour starts in Cairo and finishes in Amman.

We drive both the Desert and King's Highways, spend an evening beside the Red Sea, enjoy a jeep safari in Wadi Rum with an overnight stay at a Bedouin style camp, explore the ancient city of Petra, swim in the Dead Sea, and visit several other sites including the Roman ruins at Jerash.
This short tour combines a tour to the pyramids, sphinx and Egyptian Musem in Cairo with the time to enjoy the tranquil beach setting of Dahab. While in Dahab we include some snorkelling in the warm blue waters of the Red Sea, a sunset camel ride with local Bedouins and a full day's jeep safari to the nearby Coloured Canyon, White Canyon and Ain Khudra Oasis. There is also time to try some scuba diving, climb Mt. Sinai and visit St. Catherine's monastery if you wish.
This tour combines Egypt's main historical sites and a felucca or luxury cruise in the Nile Valley, with two separate desert safaris. Around Fayoum we visit the Wadi Rayan protected area with its spring oasis and desert lake, and the World Heritage Site of the Valley of the Whales. In the Western Deserts, we visit the Baharya & Farafra oases and enjoy an overnight jeep safari in the spectacular White Desert.

Bedouin camps are included amid the strange rock formations of the Egyptian White Desert, and the stunning desert scenery of Wadi Rum in Jordan.
