Introduction:

The Pyramisa Isis Island is a modern resort style hotel and spa set on an island in the middle of the Nile surrounded by 28 acres of landscaped gardens with views of the mountains, the Nile and the city of Aswan. There are complimentary shuttle boats operating 24 hours a day to take guests to and from Aswan on the east bank. The resort has a wide range of facilities including two outdoor pools, a health club and spa and a choice of restaurants and bars.

The unique location and facilities make this our normal first choice hotel for our Superior level tours that include stays in Aswan, and for private & tailor-made tours.

Location:

The hotel is located on an island in the middle of the Nile and is just a 10 minute free shuttle-boat ride away from the downtown shopping area of Aswan, the Agha Khan Mausoleum and bazaar. The Nubian temple and Philae Temple are both within 10 kilometres and the High Dam and Kalabsha Temples are approx 16 kilometres away. The international airport is only 30 kilometres away and takes about 30 – 40 minutes to reach by car.

Accommodation:

There are 450 rooms within the hotel and all are spacious, modern and decorated in bright colours. The standard rooms have views of the gardens and upgrades to superior rooms with Nile, mountain and pool views are available on request. Non-smoking rooms are also available on request. All rooms have either a double or twin beds, private balcony and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. They are all air-conditioned with Satellite TV, mini-fridge, telephone, in-room safe, hairdryer and have electrical sockets for charging phones and cameras.

Bars & Restaurants:

Pyramisa Isis Island - Nubian restaurant

The variety of restaurants and bars in the hotel offer a range of menus and dining styles, from candle lit dinners in the Nefertiti a la carte restaurant to more casual dining in the Venice Italian restaurant. The main restaurant in the hotel is the Ramsis and is open for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves both international and local dishes. Light meals, snacks and refreshments are available in the Lobby Café which is open 24hrs a day and from the Sunrise Terrace which has views of the Nile and West Bank.

In the evening you can enjoy an authentic Nubian night with live shows and music at the Nubian village or relax in the Mandalus Piano bar. You can finish the evening with a drink or a cocktail in the Sunset Terrace which is open 24 hours or in the Osiris nightclub.

Facilities & Services:

The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools, one of which is heated in winter, and a fully equipped Health Club and Spa. The health club includes a gym, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam bath and the spa offers an extensive range of treatments including body and facial massage, mud treatments and the unusual yellow and grey sand baths. The resort also has four tennis courts, a squash court, a children’s playground and a shopping arcade.

Note: We sometimes use this hotel in place of the first night on board a Nile Cruise boat on some of our Superior tours that include a 4-night cruise from Aswan to Luxor. This occurs during busy seasons such as Christmas & New Year, and when we have problems securing enough good cabins on a good boat doing the 4-night cruise (as there are a limited number of these). We can also offer the hotel to be used as part of other private and tailor-made holiday itineraries.
