The deserts of Egypt and Jordan are amongst the most spectacular in the world. From vast sand seas to weird moonscapes, from prehistoric rock art to colourful Bedouin campsites, these unique environments make an ideal destination for the more adventurous traveller. Our desert safari tours may also include some cultural and historic sightseeing, but they concentrate on getting out into the desert and experiencing time in these beautiful but barren environments. Most tours include at least one memorable night camping under the stars, combined with more comfortable accommodation elsewhere.
Note Following advice from the UK Foreign Office we are currently not operating any tours through Egypt's western deserts, including the Siwa Oasis. Bookings for travel on these tours in 2016 may still be made, but backup itineraries will be provided in case we are not able to run the full tour as planned.
This tour combines Egypt's main historical sites and a felucca or luxury cruise in the Nile Valley, with a desert safari through the Western Deserts. This takes in the Kharga, Dakhla, Farafra and Bahariya Oases and enjoys a jeep safari and overnight Bedouin camp amidst the spectacular White Desert.
Ideal for a second visit to Egypt, this tour visits several different desert regions including the Wadi Rayan Protected Area with its freshwater desert lake, and the Valley of the Whales World Heritage Site where numerous fossilised whales litter the beautiful desert scenery. We also enjoy a jeep safari into Western Deserts to visit the Baharya & Farafra Oases and spend a night camping under the starry desert sky amidst the weird rock formations in the White Desert.
This heads straight out of Cairo to Alexandria to tour its Roman ruins and catacombs, the modern library, and Fort Qaitbey among other sites. You then head via the war cemeteries at El Alamein into Egypt's Western desert to the remote Siwa Oasis. Several tours are included in this evocative place before you head through the desert to the Bahariya Oasis and an overnight jeep safari into the White Desert. You then return to Cairo.
