Egypt Uncovered specialises in small-group, tailor-made and family holidays in Jordan, Syria and Egypt. Small group tours are an amazing way to immerse yourself in the culture and history of a country, and keeping our tour groups small means we can deliver a personal service which ensures you get the most out of your tour. We therefore set the maximum number of people in our tour groups at 12-18, and the minimum at 2-4.
Nearly all of the Jordan, Syria and Egypt small group tours on this website have regular departures starting on set dates throughout the year.
Our policy at Egypt Uncovered is to use only local guides and tour leaders for our Egypt small group tours, as we feel that this not only contributes to the local economy but also provides you with the best local knowledge available. Local guides are able to provide more information and can bring the history, culture and nature of a country alive in a way that non-native guides cannot.
All of our tour guides are fully trained Egyptologists, have a high level of English, and are experienced in dealing with western clients. Many of our guides have been working with us for years and our clients often describe their tour guide as being one of the highlights of their holiday.
Our sister company, Encounters Travel, operates small-group tours in a variety of other countries around the world, including Jordan and Egypt. Small group tours from these countries often run on the same itinerary as those affiliated with Egypt Uncovered.
On these departures you still receive exactly the same service levels, Egyptologist guides and vehicles etc. as all the rest of our tours, but may be joined by people booking through Encounters Travel.
Many of our tour itineraries are also available to be run as private departures. These are most suited to couples, groups of friends or families who don’t want to travel with larger groups, or for those who cannot find a convenient group departure date for one of our tours in Egypt.
Small group tours with private departure dates can also be tailor-made to better suit your needs. The added expense of this more personal service usually incurs a small extra charge, the amount extra depending on the season in which you wish to travel. For more information about private departure dates please see below.

"Thanks for organising such a great trip for us! We all had an amazing time and it really opened our eyes to the country, both ancient and modern. Our guide, Emad Hussain was wonderful – very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and willing to put up with four archaeologists (including one Egyptologist) for the 12 days. I’m just downloading my 1200-odd photos now..."
