"Wow what a fantastic time I had in Dahab. I've dived at several locations around the world and never knew how exciting the Red Sea was. Caverns, canyons and the excellent Blue Hole have made this holiday the best I've been on. Where else can I go?"

White desert rock formations, Egypt Isolated in a sea of sand the western oases have remained little changed over the centuries. A less visited part of Egypt, these oases provide the chance to get away from the tourist trail and into a landscape untouched by man. This tour does a loop through the Western desert visiting the Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla and Kharga oases en-route to Luxor, where we visit the main sites on both banks of the Nile before returning to Cairo.
You start your tour in Cairo with a visit to the Gisa Plateau to see the ancient Pyramids and Sphinx. One of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Pyramids above all stand as a symbol of Egypt. From Cairo, you head out into the desert and the lush green oasis of Bahariya. After a chance to take in the tranquil beauty of the oasis we arrange for you to board jeeps and head out into the desert. Close by lies the White Desert with its strange, unearthly rock formations and vast open plains. Its scenery is more reminiscent of the Moon than of the Earth. After visiting the Crystal Mountain you can help set-up camp and spend a night under the stars. Before we reach the Farafra Oasis you can stop at the Black Desert to see the famous "flowers of the desert". In Farafra, the smallest and most peaceful of the desert oases, we see traditional houses and an ancient way of life.
Statue in the Temple of Karnak, Luxor, Egypt You continue through the desert, stopping at the larger oasis towns of Dahkla and Kharga, before arriving in Luxor. We tour both banks of the Nile in Luxor, visiting the Temples of Luxor & Karnak on the East bank, and the Valleys of the Kings & Queens, the Temple of Hatchepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon on the West bank.
You then return to Cairo for some last minute shopping before your tour ends.
Note: We have two other tours that run alongside this trip. Our Deserts, Tombs & Beaches tour continues from Luxor to spend time by the Red Sea at Dahab, before returning to Cairo. Our Deserts, Tombs & Jordan tour, continues from Dahab into Jordan, and finishes in Amman, rather than returning to Cairo.
