Ancient Christians in Egypt

• Day 1:
• Arrive in Cairo. Transfer to Hotel

You arrive at Cairo Airport where we meet and greet and transfer you to your hotel. Our Egypt Uncovered rep. Welcomes you, helps you settle into the hotel, and outlines the plan for the next few days.

• Day 2:
• Cairo - Egyptian Museum & Coptic Cairo tours

Today you have a full day tour to visit the Egyptian Museum (home to the treasures of King Tut) and the Churches of Coptic Cairo.

• Day 3:
• Visit Pyramids, Sphinx & Wadi Natrun

We head to the Giza Plateau this morning to visit the Pyramids, Sphinx and Solar Boat Museum. We then head to Wadi Natrun to visit the 4th century monasteries before continuing on to the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.

• Day 4:
• Alexandria city tour

Your tour of the city includes the Roman amphitheatre, Pompey’s pillar, Catacombs of Kom al-Shoqafa, Qait-Bay Fort and the famous Library of Alexandria.

• Day 5:
• Drive to Ismailia via Tanis

Follow the Mediterranean coast to the city of Ismailia via the Biblical town of Tanis.

• Day 6:
• Drive to St Catherine’s Monastery
  

Leave Ismailia and head into the Sinai Peninsula to St Catherine’s Monastery and Mount Sinai.

• Day 7:
• Mount Sinai Hike. Drive to Suez

Very early start - hike to the summit of Mount Sinai for the sunrise. Visit St Catherine’s Monastery before driving to Suez.

• Day 8:
• Monasteries of St Paul & St Anthony. Drive to Cairo

Drive south from Suez to Zafarana to visit the Monasteries of St Anthony and St Paul. In the afternoon return to Cairo.

• Day 9:
• Visit Fayoum Oasis
  

Head West out of Cairo to visit the Oasis town at Fayoum. Full day at the Oasis before returning to Cairo in the afternoon.

• Day 10:
• Memphis, Saqqara and City tour

Visit the Pyramids at Memphis and Saqqara before lunch at Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar. Afternoon tour of the Salah-el-Din’s Citadel.

• Day 11:
• Free time. Transfer to the Airport for departure

You have free time in Cairo today until we transfer you to the airport for departure.
