New Egypt Tours

To coincide with the re-design of our Egypt Uncovered website, our team of country specialists have been working hard with our Egyptologists in Cairo to put together a range of brand new tours. These include religious tours, special interest tours, unique journeys and extended versions of our already popular routes. On some tours we will be offering group departures on selected dates; however these tours can also all be arranged as private departures and customised to your specific requirements.

Egypt Revisited – 10 days An ideal tour for those who’ve already visited Egypt, or those with a keen interest in Egyptology. This tour aims to take you off of the well trodden tourist path in search of some of Egypt’s less visited and often forgotten gems.

Ancient Christians in Egypt – 11 days Egypt is mentioned throughout the Bible; with tales of the Great Exodus in the Old Testament and the flight of the Holy Family into Egypt in the New Testament. Our Ancient Christians tour visits many Egyptian Biblical and Christian sites such as Mount Sinai (where Moses received the 10 commandments), St Catherine’s Monastery (site of the burning bush) and Cairo’s church of St Sergius (where the Holy Family resided).

Route of the Holy Family – 9 days The Gospel of Matthew describes the flight of the Holy Family into Egypt, where Joseph, his wife Mary and their infant son Jesus escaped King Herod’s ‘Massacre of the Innocents’. Our Route of the Holy Family tour aims to follow the path which the Holy Family took through Egypt visiting Monasteries, Convents and other sites where the Holy Family are believed to have resided.

Muslim Heritage – 9 days Egypt (Misr) is mentioned numerous times in the Surahs of the Quran and the country’s Muslim heritage has led Cairo to become known as the ’City of a thousand minarets’. Our Muslim Heritage tour has been designed to take you on a journey in the footsteps of the descendents of the Prophet Mohammed, visiting significant mosques and listening to teachings from holy Imam’s along the way.

Lake Nasser and the Nile – 12 days An extended version of our Splendours of the Nile, this tour combines a Nile cruise with an additional cruise on Lake Nasser from Abu Simbel. You will visit the well known historic sites in Cairo and along the Nile in addition to visits to the lesser known temples around Lake Nasser, many of which were saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.

Dahabiya Escape – 9 days During the British colonisation of Egypt, Dahabiyas became popular within aristocratic circles and even Royalty are said to have travelled on-board. Recently, these beautifully crafted vessels have seen a revival amongst those looking for luxury without having to travel aboard one of the larger cruise ships. Our Dahabiya Escape tour fits into a week’s holiday and combines time in Cairo with a 5 night Dahabiya Cruise and tours to many of Egypt’s ancient wonders.
