All these special interest tours in Egypt concentrate on a particular activity, theme or interest that is a little different to our normal cultural sightseeing and adventure tours. Tours featured include itineraries following the route of the Holy Family through Egypt, and sites specicially related to ancient Christianity.
Egypt and its great Pharaohs are mentioned throughout the Bible; the Old Testament features stories of the Great Exodus, while in the New Testament there are tales of the Holy Family and their journey into Egypt. This tour focuses on many Egyptian biblical sites such as the Church of St Sergius (where the Holy Family resided), Mount Sinai (where Moses received the 10 commandments) and St Catherine’s Monastery (site of the burning bush).
A unique and interesting, Islamic journey through the land of the Pharaohs. Follow in the footsteps of some of the Prophet Mohammed’s descendants, take part in teachings from Imam’s and visits to significant Islamic sites located throughout the country.
The Gospel of Matthew describes the Holy Families flight into Egypt, where Joseph, his wife Mary and their infant son Jesus escaped King Herod’s ‘Massacre of the Innocents’. Our route of the Holy Family tour aims to follow the path which the Holy Family took through Egypt.
