Introduction:
The Hilton Dahab is a low rise resort built in the style of a Bedouin village set on its own private beach and surrounded by landscaped gardens and natural saltwater lagoons. The hotel features a large outdoor pool with a sun terrace overlooking the Red Sea. The hotel has all the facilities of a 5* hotel and, as a beach resort also offers a wide range of sports and recreational activities including its own dive school, water-sports centre and health club.
The resort has a range of children’s facilities and activities making this hotel an ideal choice for families. This is our first choice 5* hotel for stays in Dahab for people booking private and tailor-made tours, or hotel upgrades on our small-group tours.
Location:
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Dahab and is a short taxi ride from the town centre with its numerous shops, bars & restaurants. The International airport at Sharm el Sheikh is 87 kilometres away (approx 1 1/2 hours) and the airport at Taba is 180 kilometres (approx 2 1/2 hours) away. The Coloured Canyon is approx 80 kilometres from the hotel and Mt Sinai and St Catherine’s Monastery are 110 km away.
Accommodation:
The hotel has 139 rooms and 24 suites which are all located in the two storey white buildings located throughout the gardens. The Nubian style rooms are decorated in cool colours and are modern and spacious with either one king size or two twin beds. They all have a balcony or terrace with views of the gardens, lagoons or mountains and upgrades to deluxe rooms with sea views are also available for a supplement. The air conditioned rooms each have a large marble en-suite bathroom and are fully equipped with satellite TV, mini-bar, telephone and electrical sockets.
Bars & Restaurants:
There are a number of bars and restaurants within the hotel offering a choice of dining styles. The casual a la carte Neptune’s restaurant is located on the beach and offers speciality fish dishes as well as an international menu and is open for both lunch and dinner. The Portofino Italian restaurant has a romantic atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating and views of Dahab bay and is open for dinner only.
The main hotel restaurant is the Mirage which is open for buffet breakfast and dinner with different themed evenings every night. The Beach bar offers snacks, ice cream, drinks and cocktails throughout the day from 10.00am until 12.00am and the Coconut bar which is open in the evening only has outdoor seating and views of the bay. The air-conditioned Windjammer bar is open until 01.00am every night and offers drinks, cocktails and shisha pipes and has a big screen TV and pool table.
Facilities & Services:
The hotel has a wide range of facilities and recreational activities on offer including a large outdoor pool, tennis courts, jogging track and private beach. The Aquasport centre offers a range of watersports including windsurfing, water skiing and kayaking and the scuba diving centre offers courses ranging from introductory classes to instructor training. There is also a range of facilities for children including a separate pool, playground and kids club with organised games and activities.
